Project Overviews

Sundial Energy is actively leasing and purchasing 15 – 40 acres of agricultural land in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin for solar as well as 5,000 – 10,000 SF unused industrial land for energy storage in the boroughs of New York City and Suffolk County, Long Island. Learn more about the value your land can create by hosting a renewable energy project by reaching out to a Sundial expert using the Contact Us form on the right side of this page and see a few of our select projects actively in development below.

Southwestern Illinois Solar

This solar project located in southwestern Illinois is located less than one quarter mile from a substation on agricultural land. The landowner was looking for a way to increase revenue from the property and Sundial’s project will more than double cash flow as compared to current and historical cash crop prices. Once complete, expected early 2026, the solar project will generate enough energy to power around 1,000 homes for a full year.

Central Minnesota Solar

Sundial designed and is developing this solar project in central Minnesota. We worked with the landowner to design a project that would fit with existing and future planned uses of the land to optimize the property’s cash flow. Once complete, expected early 2026, the solar project will generate enough energy to power around 1,000 homes for a full year.

Suffolk County Energy Storage

This standalone storage project is in a technology park in Suffolk County Long Island. Sundial is working with PSEG-Long Island and local authorities to enhance the area’s grid resilience with a safe, environmentally friendly solution that will provide power to roughly 4,000 homes during the grid’s most stressed times.
